A Flatiron office, and online across the state
Therapy in New York, in person and online
In person in Flatiron, Manhattan
I’m Samira Dewidar, a licensed clinical social worker and EMDRIA Certified Therapist. I see clients in person at my office in Flatiron, Manhattan, and online anywhere in New York State.
My office is at 928 Broadway, Suite 900, in the Flatiron District, between Union Square and Madison Square Park. It’s a few minutes’ walk from the 23rd Street stations and from 14th Street–Union Square, so most of the subway lines that run through Manhattan get you close.
Good to know:
The office is in a private, comfortable therapist suite
The building is wheelchair accessible, with elevator access
Sessions are 50 minutes, usually at the same time each week
Monday to Friday, with early-morning and evening times available
EMDR intensives are also offered in Williamsburg, Brooklyn
Not everyone can get to Flatiron on a weekday, and not everyone wants to
Online across New York State
The same length, the same fee and the same work
I also work online with clients anywhere in New York State, from Brooklyn and Queens to Westchester, Long Island and upstate. Sessions are on HIPAA-compliant Zoom.
EMDR works online too, with a bilateral stimulation app or self-tapping; we’ll go over it before we start.
You need to be physically in New York (or California, where I’m also licensed) at the time of each session. If you’re thinking about a move, let me know and we’ll plan around it.
Who I work with
Most of my clients are high-achieving women in their twenties to forties: eldest daughters, adult children of immigrants, healthcare professionals and other helpers. Many have been in therapy before, understand their patterns, and are still stuck in them. I also work with adolescents aged 14 and up.
The common threads:
Anxiety that doesn’t switch off
Perfectionism and people-pleasing
Burnout
Feeling “not good enough” no matter what you achieve

How I work
I’m warm, direct and actively engaged. I integrate EMDR, IFS-informed parts work, somatic approaches and relational therapy, with the aim of shifting patterns at the root rather than managing them on the surface. Weekly therapy is the usual format. For a specific memory or belief that keeps running things, an EMDR intensive gives us a longer block of time.
Fees and insurance
Sessions are $215. I’m an out-of-network provider and don’t bill insurance directly. For weekly sessions I provide a superbill you can submit to your plan; many New York PPO plans reimburse part of the fee. Intensives are private pay. Full details are on my fees and FAQs page.
Getting started
Request a free 15-minute consultation call. We’ll talk about what’s going on, whether I’m the right fit, and whether in person or online makes more sense for you. If I’m not the right person, I’ll try to point you to someone who is.
