EMDR Intensives in NYC
Extended EMDR for deeper, focused healing when insight isn’t enough
When insight alone hasn’t been enough.
You’ve done the work. You’ve learned the skills. But something is still holding you back.
You’re seeking accelerated healing that is flexible
You don’t have the time for weekly sessions and are looking for progress that can take months in traditional therapy.
You are seeking a flexible and customized therapy experience that prioritizes your goals and schedule.
You’re seeking deeper, more concentrated healing
You have identified the past wounds and traumas that are holding you back.
You have “done the work” and understand certain insights, but they don’t yet “feel” true in your body.
You are ready to do more than talk—you’re looking for concentrated and accelerated healing.
You are looking to process trauma that feels “stuck” as a complement to the work you are already doing with an established therapist.
You’re in the right place.
Extended sessions give focused EMDR work more uninterrupted time, with preparation and follow-up built in.
What is an intensive?
An EMDR intensive is an extended, focused therapy session designed around a specific concern, memory, belief, or pattern. Rather than beginning and ending the work within a 50-minute hour, we have more uninterrupted time to prepare, process, pause when needed, and follow the material that emerges. The goal is not to rush the work, but to give it enough space. Intensives can be a supplement to weekly therapy with another therapist or a stand-alone service.
1
Treatment Planning & Preparation
A 90-minute session to clarify your goals, prepare for the experience of the intensive, and identify a clear, individualized focus for the work whether that’s a specific memory, belief, feeling, or recurring pattern. You do not need to know the exact memory you want to process ahead of time.
2
Intensive
Session
Your intensive is a 3-hour, focused EMDR session centered on the specific goal we identified together. We use EMDR to follow what emerges, with time built in for breaks, grounding, and reflection throughout. We move at a pace that feels manageable and productive.
3
Post-Intensive Follow-Up
You may notice new thoughts, dreams, memories, emotions, or shifts in how you respond to things that previously felt triggering. In our 50-minute follow-up, we’ll make sense of what changed, explore anything that still feels unfinished, and discuss next steps for continued healing and growth.
What you get
✓ A focused, personalized roadmap for your intensive
✓ Extended time for EMDR reprocessing
✓ Preparation and grounding before deeper work
✓ Breaks and pacing based on your nervous system
✓ Integration and follow-up after the intensive

Imagine finally getting to…
Address what talk therapy hasn’t reached
EMDR works with how experiences are stored in the nervous system, not only with the conscious mind, so the work can reach a deeper level.
Work toward relief that carries into daily life
By addressing the root of distress rather than managing symptoms alone, change can show up in how you respond day to day.
Overcome the obstacles that have kept you feeling stuck
Together, we’ll work through patterns, beliefs, and emotional blocks in a new way that will help you move forward.

EMDR helps the brain reprocess distressing memories and experiences so they feel less emotionally charged and no longer drive anxiety, negative beliefs, or patterns in the present. Rather than talking through events in detail, EMDR focuses on how experiences are stored in the nervous system and supports the brain’s natural healing process.
-
Intensives offer extended sessions over a shorter period of time, allowing for deeper, more focused work than traditional weekly therapy. This format can be especially helpful if you want to make meaningful progress quickly or feel stuck despite ongoing therapy.
-
An intensive may be worth exploring if you want focused support around a distressing experience or a recurring pattern, such as self-criticism or people-pleasing. You don’t need to have a specific memory identified or know for certain that EMDR is right for you.
We’ll start with a free consultation to discuss what’s bringing you in and answer your questions. If it seems like a potential fit, a separate 50-minute assessment helps us explore your history, current support, and readiness before deciding whether to move forward. There’s no obligation to book an intensive.

-
Yes. With the right structure and tools, clients are able to engage in meaningful, body-based processing from the comfort of their own space. On the consultation call we can talk through whether online or in person fits you better.
-
Intensives are private pay. I’m an out-of-network provider and don’t accept insurance, and I don’t provide superbills for intensives, since insurance plans generally don’t reimburse sessions longer than 60 minutes. For weekly therapy sessions, a superbill is available on request.
